Hobby Master 1:72 Air Power Series HA4547 Boeing F-15SA Saudi Advanced Eagle Diecast Model USAF, #12-1002 Test Aircraft, 2018. Boeing F-15SA Saudi Advanced Eagle. The F-15SA is an advanced variant of the F-15 Strike Eagle, developed for Saudi Arabia. It features upgraded avionics, fly-by-wire controls, and AESA radar. With enhanced maneuverability, modernized electronic warfare systems, and increased weapon capacity, it’s one of the most capable multirole fighters in the world. In 2018, F-15SA #12-1002 featured distinctive test markings during its evaluation and testing phases. These markings are typically seen on aircraft undergoing trials to validate their performance, systems, and capabilities before being delivered to the customer. Designed to meet US Air Force requirements for an air superiority fighter to replace the F-4 Phantom, the F-15 Eagle first flew on July 27, 1972. Following reviews of proposals, the United States Air Force selected McDonnell Douglas’s design in 1969 to meet the service’s need for a dedicated air superiority fighter. Since entering service in 1976, it is among the most successful modern fighters, with over 100 victories and no losses in aerial combat, with the majority of the kills by the Israeli Air Force. Hobby Master’s 1:72 scale F-15 is produced with a high metal content using state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques. The model features near seamless construction as seen on all Hobby Master products, and this is particularly evident with the tight-fitting conformal fuel tanks present on the F-15E variant. Separate open and closed canopy and speed brakes are included, yielding uncompromising detail that functional hinges would lack at this scale. Other fine features include a detailed cockpit interior, a variety of ordnance and drop tanks appropriate to the paint-scheme and landing gear that constructed as completed subassemblies for easy installation. HISTORY ASPECTS:The USAF XB-58A, tail number 55-661, was part of the B-58 Hustler program, an experimental bomber developed in the 1950s by Convair for the United States Air Force (USAF). The B-58 Hustler was the first supersonic bomber capable of sustained Mach 2 flight, making it a groundbreaking achievement in aviation technology. The XB-58A, as a prototype, played a pivotal role in testing and validating the complex systems and high-speed performance characteristics that would define the operational B-58 fleet. With its delta-wing design and four-engine configuration, the aircraft was a marvel of engineering that pushed the boundaries of speed, altitude, and innovation. Assigned to the B-58 Test Force, tail number 55-661 was heavily involved in testing at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The tests conducted by the XB-58A were crucial in ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the production models that would later enter service with the Strategic Air Command (SAC). The B-58 was designed to carry nuclear payloads at high altitudes and speeds, which made the flight test phase critical to understanding its operational limits. Although the XB-58A did not see combat, its contributions to the development of strategic bombers during the Cold War were invaluable. While the B-58 Hustler program itself was relatively short-lived due to high operating costs and advancements in missile technology, the XB-58A prototype and test force aircraft were instrumental in pushing aviation technology forward. Their testing efforts helped pave the way for future supersonic aircraft and set new standards for bomber performance. The B-58 Hustler remains a symbol of Cold War-era innovation, and tail number 55-661, as part of the test force, holds a special place in aviation history for its role in shaping the future of high-speed flight. Collectors and aviation enthusiasts will appreciate this 1:200 scale model, tail number 55-661. With its sleek, delta-wing design and detailed representation, this replica captures the essence of a pioneering aircraft that pushed the boundaries of supersonic bomber technology. It’s a perfect tribute to one of the most iconic experimental bombers of the Cold War era. Offered is an original, United States Property marked Air Force flight suit. This suit, flying, very light is dark blue in color and is a size large tall. It was made by L. It dates to the 1950s and is period correct for the patch it bears on the right chest tying it to the 4925th Test Group, Atomic. The Group was discontinued on April 1, 1961, when Air Force Systems Command replaced Air Research and Development Command and components of its mission were distributed among other units. The 4925th was a significant and interesting unit that is worth your time to research, if you find yourself interested. This suit was obtained from the family of a very accomplished Air Force Colonel who recently passed away. He was given this suit by a member of the 4925th. The suit is offered exactly as pictured and shows very little wear for its age and use. The only real flaw I found is that the zipper on the left flank vent is off of one track. A pretty simple fix. A very interesting piece of Air Force history tied to a very interesting unit.
