Ww2/post-war RAF MK8 flying goggles, nice boxed pair of goggles as worn by RAF aircrew and pilots. Ubiquitous in images of late war pilots and aircrew. This pair are somewhat used but come in their original box with tinted lenses and demist kit. The goggles themselves are in good used condition retaining a good amount of their original paint. Face cushions are still soft with some service soiling to them. The lenses being very clear and clean, as are the tinted ones. Strap is in great condition too, retaining very good elasticity. There appears to be a name to the strap but I cannot read it. The original cardboard transit box itself is in good condition too with some soiling but no major rips or tears. Marked to the top of the lid and side with “GOGGLES MKVIII”, stores reference number 22C/930. Overall a good complete set of flying goggles ideal for completing an RAF pilot/aircrew display. Perfect for display in a ww2 RAF collection, museum display or reinactor display. Open to all offers just drop me a message. Original ww2 flying jacket. I think this could be an early example. Its had some repairs over the years and still has some issues but could quite easily be worn as it is. The main zip looks to be original. One sleeve zip has lost its puller but still works. The other zip has been sewn up. It appears to have the remains of paint on the back, maybe artwork? The jacket is a small size. Measures approximately 19 inches armpit to armpit. The leather is still soft an the fleece is nice. Overall a very wearable jacket. This is an original ww2 flying jacket and not a replica. The jacket is in a very wearable condition. The leather is still soft and the fleece is lovely. The main zip looks like its been replaced but the sleeve zips are original and stamped. The collar strap has come unstitched but is present. Its had a few small repairs. It has a small leather strip sewn on the front which could be a repair or maybe it had a name on it. The original label is missing. The hanging chain is also missing. Original WWII A-2 leather flying jacket. Manufactured by Poughkeepsie NY. Contracted to make 50000 on 18-5-1942. Fits large 42-44 chest. Leather is in good supple condition & has aged perfectly, in all the right places, with a nice patina. No holes, rips or tears. Lining is all there & in good condition for age. The patch is attributed to the 33rd Fighter Grp, 59th Fighter Squadron, (Golden pride). This is the real deal, probably worn, during WWII by a 59th Fighter Squadron, Mustang pilot, over the European or Pacific theatre or both. Amazing piece of history, speaks for itself.
