HAT SIZE APPROX 7 TO 7 1/8. JACKET SIZE 40R, FAINT DATE, LOOKS LIKE 01.12.43. BLOUCH IDENTIFIED UNDER SWEATBAND. BLOUCH (1910 – 1988). Blouch was a chaplain at several churches throughout Allentown and Lebanon in his career. A graduate of Lebanon Valley College, he also studied at United Theological Seminary, Harvard University, and the Carlisle Barracks. During World War II Blouch served as chaplain for the 456th Bomb Group of the 15th Air Force in several theaters. In 1953 Blouch retired as chaplain of the 28th Division. Appears to be a lieutenant in the us army air force with the silver bar on shoulder top. Has lots of wing pins. Let me know if you know anything more about this. 8th Air Force Combat Losses in Europe were heavy. You had a larger percentage of being killed, wounded or captured while flying in the 8th air force than if you were in the infantry in the front line. It was hell for these guys. This is a piece of history. Both: Back of shoulders from arm seam to arm seam 18.5. Sleeve length, from seam at top of shoulder to tip of cuff. Length from back measuring from top of Collar to bottom of coat. Ike: 36: measuring inside 4 inches above bottom. From hook to eyelets 34. Blouse: 38 from inside bottom button which is 14 inches from bottom. 34: from button center to first crease on button hole, measuring inside of coat. NAMED WWII 311th FIGHTER GROUP 10th AIR FORCE CBI PILOT BUSH FLIGHT JACKET WW2

The jacket is entirely either Burmese or Chinese theater made. There is no size tagging present, but jacket measures to a size 34-36 or so. The jacket is period named to R. I researched the name and found a Robert V. Mulanax who was a 10th AF fighter pilot with the 311th Fighter Group, 530th Fighter Squadron. Mulanax was credited with three aerial victories, one each on 11/28/1943, 3/27/1944, and 5/11/1944. The vintage bush jacket exhibits heavy period wear and use. The jacket exhibits soiling and sweat staining throughout and a few of the buttons are also chipped or have some small losses. The inner neck of the jacket has some period writing in ink with the name of pilot and misc. Numbers possibly partial serial numbers. The outer neck under the collar has a serial number which I believe reads O666424 written in it as seen. The lower inside front tail of the jacket has some kanji characters and also the initials RVM period written in them. Some of the writing has bled as seen but is still mainly legible. The jacket also lacks the belt. This jacket is in by no means excellent condition, but is one that shows honest period use and field wear and was probably flown in quite a bit. The jacket and all patches & insignia are 100% theater made and jacket is totally original with nothing added or removed. The jacket displays wonderfully and would make a wonderful addition to most any WWII CBI or Fighter Pilot collection. I have owned several WWII theater made bush jackets over the years, but this one was always my favorite. Guaranteed 100% authentic in every regard. 99 CENTS TO START & NO RESERVE! Excellent find from a long term high quality military collection. This is the tailored ike Jacket of DFC recipient 1st Lt Jack L Spence a B-17 bombardier with the 509th squadron 351st bomb group his plane was named “the cocktail siren” Has great Bullion wing on blue wool background indicating being on an active combat crew. Excellent Brit made 3 place ribbon bar with DFC, air medal w 3 oak leaf clusters and 2 battle stars one bronze on silver. See photos of the bullion wing and patch under black light- no glow. Named WWII US Army Air Force B-3 Leather Bomber Flight Jacket 38R. This flight jacket is one of a kind but has some wear and tear that you can you see in the pictures. The B3 jacket has a name written on one of the straps; it reads L. I did a google search for this name and saw there was a 2nd Lieutenant L. Who was in the USAAF that died in action in 1942 in the Pacific theater. The jackets has a tag with some markings as you can see in the picture. 33 H 5595 A. The jacket is pretty stiff and has quite a bit of wear. The zipper is missing teeth in several locations. Please see pictures for details on the condition.
