WWII era Army Air Force Flak Helmet, Biker Chrome Plated, Original Suspension

Really amazing WWII era Mark 3 Army Air Force Flak Helmet. These were used by air crews for protection. Post War it is likely the helmet was then chrome plated for that outlaw biker look. Is in very nice condition with some rust spot and wear on the chrome. The original suspension and chin strap are still in place. The chin strap shows age and has rust on the fittings. It seems to be a large size and easily fits my 7 3/8 head. I could not find any markings or sizing. These items are vintage, and have been around smoking and animals. I was told by the previous owner that it belonged to his father who got it when he was in West Point, It was commemorating Air Force separating from the Army. I can’t verify this information, but I’m sure some of you collectors out there know what is what. My research did not produced any results.
