1950S USAF L-2B FLIGHT JACKET BY ROLEN SPORTSWEAR CO. SIZE L (FITS M/L). Fantastic piece in really great and wearable condition. Late 1950s L-2B Lightzone Flight Jacket. Rare model by Rolen Sportswear Company USA. 100% Nylon outer in Sage Green. 36% Wool lining and 64% Rayon face. Wool cuffs and waistband. Nice contrast HBT Conmar zippers. Leather pull in the sleeve. Original snap buttons working. Faded USAF stencil of left shoulder. Insignia has been removed. Lightweight – Can be used in spring or summer. The nylon on these jackets tend to fade in a special way and this one has a nice even fade to it. A bit darker in real life, than on the pictures. Condition: no rips or tears. There are a few age spots on the inner lining (which is super soft btw). There are some small holes on the wool sleeve. Bottoms and on the inside of the neck. Size: Marked as a mens L, but it is short, so would also fit a modern mens M in our opinion. Please see measurements below. Pit to pit: 26. Shoulder to shoulder: 19,5. Rare find, mens vintage United States Air Force flight jacket from the mid to late 1950s by Rolen Sportswear. Heavy nylon fabric in sage green color with wool & rayon satin liner and wool knit cuffs and waistband. Sturdy brass metal Talon brand zipper at front, please note this is a well done replacement by a previous owner and it still has an original Conmar brand metal zipper at sleeve. Roomy fit that hits at waist, shorter than some modern mens jackets so please note all measurements to ensure you get the fit you are looking for. This jacket has a ton of wear left but does look to have been worn quite a bit, please see all issues listed below. It presents nicely and is a really amazing piece of history, overall in great condition and ready to wear! Issues: USAF rondell at left sleeve is faded out, this is common for these jackets and hard to avoid. The metal zipper at sleeve is currently stuck closed – I do not feel comfortable forcing it but I think with care it can open. There is wear to knit collar and heavy wear to knit cuffs, the waistband is in good condition. Liner has light wear to inside back of collar. There are some pulls and light stains to the outside of jacket, please study all pictures. It has not been dry cleaned or spot cleaned, as we aim to keep it as original as possible. No smells or major stains / dirtiness – it is ready to wear as is. S I Z E. Tag size – mens vintage US Large. Chest – measures 24.5 flat. Shoulder – 19 seam to seam at back. Waist – measured flat, stretches from 18.5″ to 20″. Length – approximately 21″ at back / 23.5″ at front. This listing for this early MA-1 Air Force Flight Jacket mfg. By The Rolen Sportswear Co.. Very desirable and very collectible. This is a real one! Original USAF period Rank insignia and patch! Has Oxygen mask clip web piece and comms holder snaps in place. This jacket is all original and authentic. Incredibly fantastic and very, very original! It is a men’s size XL. It hasn’t any snags or holes The cuffs and bands do show wear (photoed). There are no rips, tears or holes in the jacket itself and all of the zippers and snaps are in perfect working condition. This is a very nice, solid, post atomic era model that can be proudly worn or displayed. Please see photos for actual condition. Please feel free to ask questions. This jacket shows wear at the collar, and cuffs, but it’s all original and extremely nice and wearable as is. This is a really nice jacket even though it does have wear on the wool collar and cuffs. You are looking at a quality original 50’s Korean War era USAF Type MA-1 Intermediate flight jacket with Conmar zippers. Made in USA by Rolen Sportswear Co. The shell is in very good condition for it’s age with just very faint staining (nothing considerable), and a tiny bit of damage to the right shoulder. The wool cuffs are heavily moth eaten and will need to be replaced, the hem is mostly good with just a few small holes. The collar is mostly good too but there is an area that is moth eaten. The zips and popper work fine. Please see all images. The size tag reads Large. Please be guided by the exterior measurements. 25 1/2 pit to pit. 22 1/2″ nape of collar to hem 19 1/2″ shoulder to shoulder 23 1/2″ shoulder to cuff 16 1/2 ” pit to cuff.
