Great fur trim, mouton lined hood, nice blue shell. Pre owned, does have some issues – minor discoloration/fade to the shell, Front Crown zipper is missing (can see where a tooth is missing near bottom box, it must have detached from there). Minor bit of fur loss/shedding to fur trim. Also drawstrings inside waist area are worn, and cuffs show wear. Please see all photos! Go by following/see pics for best fit: Measures 22.5″ pit to pit, 17″ armpit seam to end of knit cuff, and 30 length from rear neck seam down center back.

Jacket, Aircrew, Heavy Type N-3A Size Small. CROWN made in the USA zipper with leather pull. Left sleeve zippered pocket features metal CONMAR zipper with leather pull. Paper tag with size quality control number written inside upper front snap button pocket. All working zippers and all buttons intact, beautiful fur coyote? Full ruff, hard to find in this condition! Ribbing at wrists is GOOD with one hole, see photo. Paint loss to snaps. No snags, stains, or odors – near MINT. This parka was dry-cleaned by its very fastidiously clean owner and stored away for years. Mens Vintage 50s USAF N-3A Navy Blue Cold Weather Parka Coat Medium 38 R12824. Vintage, 1950s-era USAF N-3A navy blue extreme. Cold weather parka coat. Features include: a nylon shell, heavy duty insulation, spring loaded. Crown brand zips, US Air Force shoulder stamp, snorkel hood with fur trim and mouton lining, drawstring waistband and ribbed knitted cuffs. Measures around a 38 chest. Lease see below for specific measurements. Wear – Good, vintage condition. There are two small splits developing in the lower side seams as well a handful of small holes and tear in the cuffs. The inside of the hem has come unstitched on the back (roughly 3.5). There are also a couple of minor nicks below the bottom but as well as some superficial scuffing around the lower sleeves but overall this jacket is in good condition. There is heavy staining across the zip cover, lower front and above the hem on the back. There are also several faint stains across the sleeves, chest, hood and pockets. Please see images for details. Crown brand zip, poppers, drawstrings and buttons. The top button has been replaced but all other original fastenings are present and working. Pockets – 2 front / 2 hand warmers. Lining – The mouton lining and the bottom of the hood is slightly worn and there is a minor snag on the inside of the chest. There is also dark staining/discolouration present throughout the lining. Pit to Cuff – 17.5. Shoulder to Shoulder – N/A. Seam below the collar to hem on back of item. _gsrx_vers_837 GS 7.0.15 (837). Rare N-3A US Air Force Parka from 1950s. Fur trim on hood is coyote or wolf. In extremely good shape with no matting, thinning or coming loose from hood. Judging by the weight of the jacket (6+ lbs), the inside between outer nylon and inner lining is most likely wool. The knit cuffs on the sleeves show no wear or unraveling. The jacket does have an odor about it. It’s not unpleasant, but is definitely there. Perhaps the aging wool. I don’t know if dry cleaning would remove it or just being out in fresher air than it’s probably been in the last 60 or more years. I acquired the jacket at an estate sale and most of the information I’ve gleaned from other listings and research on the net. I’ve shown it to several people who served in the military, but they were Viet Nam era and their gear was green; they had never seen one like this. Original Early 1950s US Air Force Jacket, Aircrew, Heavy. Made by Reed Products, Inc. Spring Loaded Crown Zipper. It is in remarkable condition – excellent with no flaws other than that the Air Force stamp has faded. It appears to have seen only very light use because the wool pocket bags are very clean. The white wool is still very white! The cheesecloth tag in the pocket with’Lot’ and size’Large’ is in excellent shape – these are usually long gone. Arm pocket zipper is a Conmar and main front opening has the ever charming and very burly spring loaded Crown zipper. All the original leather pulls are here and in great condition. The wool knit cuffs and shearling hood lining are perfect. The inner lining is also perfect. All the original drawstrings are here and in great shape. The most remarkable part is the thick and very full coyote fur around the hood. I never see it this good! You won’t find another one of these in such amazing condition!
