Gannon Collections Series Nickel Silver Medallion. Mintage 1,500, struck in 1969. Combat planes that spans World War II to (1973). The obverse carries 3/4″ view of each classic while the reverse carries a “drawing board version of the plane from three angles. These coins are in handled condition and are definitely not near mint. I believe this is the whole set. I see other medals like this for sale individually don’t see the whole set though. Please contact me if you have any other questions. This new, unopened model is a 1:48 scale die-cast model of a Lockheed P-38 Lightning, a World War II-era American fighter aircraft, produced by the Franklin Mint as part of their Armour Collection. The P-38 Lightning was a versatile aircraft used for various missions, including dive bombing, photo reconnaissance, and long-range escort. It was the only American front-line fighter in production from the beginning to the end of WWII. The P-38 was the first 400 mph fighter and had a 40,000-foot ceiling. It was known for its distinctive twin-boom design and powerful armament. The model is hand-decorated and fully assembled, with authentic details and precise scaling. The P-38 played a significant role in the Pacific theater due to its long range. It was nicknamed the “fork-tailed devil” by the Germans. Over 9,900 P-38s were built during the war. This model is part of my late father’s life-long collection. He was a brilliant historian who had an extensive appreciation for WWII memorabilia and also classic cars. See my other listings also!

The Lockheed F-117 Nighthawk is aretired American single-seat, subsonic twin-engine stealth attack aircraftdeveloped by Lockheed’s secretive Skunk Works division and operated by theUnited States Air Force (USAF). It was the first operational aircraft to bedesigned with stealth technology. Even years following its entry toservice, the F-117 was a black project, its existence being denied by USAFofficials. On 10 November 1988, the F-117 was publicly acknowledged for thefirst time. Its first combat mission was flown during the United Statesinvasion of Panama in 1989. The last of 59 production F-117s were delivered on3 July 1990. The F-117 was widely publicized for its role in the Gulf War of1991, having flown approximately 1,300 sorties and scored direct hits on whatthe US called 1,600 high-value targets in Iraq. F-117s also participated in theconflict in Yugoslavia, during which one was shot down by a surface-to-airmissile (SAM) in 1999. It was also active during Operation Enduring Freedom in2001 and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. The USAF retired the F-117 in April2008, primarily due to the fielding of the F-22 Raptor. Despite the type’sofficial retirement, a portion of the fleet has been kept in airworthycondition, and F-117s have been observed flying since 2009.
