Made by Moss Bros. Sadly the details are no longer legible and too faint to read. The uniform is post war period. The Observer brevet looks WWII Period. Highly decorated Officer with Distinguished Flying Cross, 1939-45 Star, Africa Star with Rosette, Pacific Star with Rosette, Defence, British War Medal, General Service Medal and Croix de Guerre with palm. I have taken the following measurements as a guide for fit. Please account for under garments. This is a really superb example of a hard to find item, in near perfect condition. All buttons are present, brass, Kings Crown and unaltered, the lining is also in superb condition, I really love this one, but it’s too small for me.. See photos but please not the chest is not a 44″ as it might appear from the image, more 42 or 40″ – however the coat would easily alter, with the simple removal of buttons and re-positioning of them out or in, as required. (I have 2 more RAF greatcoats, but not in this condition sadly). In case I need to say, this is for the coat, epualetts and integral belt. The coat came with King Crown buttons, which indicate pre 1953, however there is no label to tie this down to a specific date of making. They are marked on the tongues. Crows foot / military arrow marked. Size 9 C 22C 752. The leather is still soft and supple, the sheepskin lining has some moth damage / malting. The ankle straps are present, there is some residue on one. The zips are Lightning brand, they move freely. The rubber coating that runs around the boots has dried and is cracked. The original Itshide soles are ok, although worn, the heels may be period replacements? The tongues are present, some moth damage.
