This is a good pair of WWII RAF MK VIII Flying Goggles They measure approx 7 1/2 inches (190mm) across. Good, Vintage condition, with light wear consummate with age & use. The leather is flexible and supple, with no damage or repairs. The hooks all work as they should. The elastic has gone limp with age (easy enough to replace) The lenses are good, with no delamination (tiny chip at base of left hand lens, see photos). Some wear to sheepskin surround on goggles. The suit is internally electrically wired with press stud connectors to the wearers wrist and ankles to connect heated gloves and boots. These were worn to protect against the temperatures in the aircraft which could be so low touching anything metal with bare skin could cause frostbite. Height – 5’7”/5’8′. Breast – 34”/36′. Rare 1920’s ELGIN Air Force WWI Pilot Vintage Mens Wrist Watch. Very good condition, running strong at the time of listing. Slight scratches and wear. New genuine leather band. Accuracy and longevity unknown; we cannot guarantee the mechanical operation. 30.5mm case, Band 20mm. This movement was produced from 1917 to 1932. You movement is from 1928. It is a 3/0 size model 462. Originally the dials were made to honor the generals of WW1. The black was for General Blackjack Pershing. But do not know who they honored. The dial was so popular that Elgin continued it long after the war ended. The very rare military watch had distinct markings on the back of the case. They are super rare and cost a bundle. All items have been tested for authenticity. Gems are tested with Presidium gem tester. Please note this tester cannot differentiate between manufactured and natural stones. All gold is tested with a TRI Electronic GT-4000 Gold Tester and all silver is acid tested. Watches have not been professionally tested or serviced and we do not offer any guarantee on functionality or life of watches.
